How to create a billing profile
Background:
The Billing Profile feature allows for different settings to co-exist within your MDBilling.ca account. This is useful when you have multiple practices and need different settings for each practice. This allows you to quickly bill OHIP claims depending on where you are and what you are doing that day.
Some common use cases for this feature are:
Group vs. solo billing
Sub-specialty vs. medicine billing
Clinic vs. inpatient billing
As an example, you are a Respirologist who bills for both outpatients and Internal Medicine inpatients.
You can set up the Billing Profile called "Clinic" with the following settings:
Facility: Outpatient/No Facility
Enable Last Diagnostic Code for Patient
Favourite codes: A475A, A7XA, E078A
and another Billing Profiled called "Medicine Inpatient" with the following settings:
Facility: North York General (AT)
Enable Last Admission Date for Patient
Favourite codes: A135A, E082A, C135A, IPTMA
As you can see with this example it allows you to bill and make claims fast because many of your preferences are set based on the clinic situation for the day.
Available Settings:
A unique Billing Profile can be configured with the following settings:
Forms & Document Details
How do I create & assign a profile?
You can create multiple billing profiles to your account by enabling the feature as follows:
Top right --> [Gear Icon] --> Billing Profiles --> Enable this feature
Please note a MAIN profile is automatically created which will contain your current settings.
You must use a unique name for each Billing Profile. Once the profile is created, you can assign it to your current session.
You will also experience a pop-up menu when you first login and allowing you to assign the profile.
How do I customize a profile?
When you navigate to one of your settings, select the Billing Profile you like to apply. The specific settings you configure will only apply to the Billing Profile you have chosen.
Mobile app
The Billing Profile feature is only available on the web application.
The default MOH Group and Patient Database from the mobile app will be inherited from the MAIN billing profile.
