How to create a billing profile

Background:

The Billing Profile feature allows for different settings to co-exist within your MDBilling.ca account. This is useful when you have multiple practices and need different settings for each practice. This allows you to quickly bill OHIP claims depending on where you are and what you are doing that day.

Some common use cases for this feature are:

As an example, you are a Respirologist who bills for both outpatients and Internal Medicine inpatients.

You can set up the Billing Profile called "Clinic" with the following settings:

  • Facility: Outpatient/No Facility

  • Enable Last Diagnostic Code for Patient

  • Favourite codes: A475A, A7XA, E078A

and another Billing Profiled called "Medicine Inpatient" with the following settings:

  • Facility: North York General (AT)

  • Enable Last Admission Date for Patient

  • Favourite codes: A135A, E082A, C135A, IPTMA

As you can see with this example it allows you to bill and make claims fast because many of your preferences are set based on the clinic situation for the day.
