Collaborate with your Colleagues to Save Time and Earn More®

In three (03) easy steps, the Data Sharing feature allows you to share the following information:

  • Billing History

  • My Patient List

  • Templates

  • Version Code History

STEP 1 - CREATE A LIST OF PHYSICIAN(S) TO SHARE

Share your information with physicians who have an active MDBilling.ca account. You can search for a physician in our system using their 6 digit billing number.

Note: to prevent exposing our customer list, you can not search for MDBilling.ca physicians by their name.

What happens if my colleague is not with MDBilling.ca?

You can ask them to sign up for an account. Tap “invite”, and ask them by email/text/IM to create an account with us (it takes about 1 business day to activate their account once they sign up). Once your colleague has an account and Go Secure/MCEDT configured with us, you will need to repeat the previous process to add your colleague.

What if I shared an item with the wrong person?

You can delete the request by navigating to Shared By Me and swiping left. For more information, refer to STEP 3 - View Your Requests.

STEP 2 - SHARING & VIEWING INFORMATION

Now that you have added a physician to your list, you can select the type of data to share.

Billing History

Prevent billing conflicts and avoid billing the same codes with other physicians. This feature allows you to share your billing history for a particular patient. Any new codes added for the same patient will be shared with your colleagues automatically.

Instructions for:

  • Contributor → Billing History → select Patient(s) + Colleague(s) → Share

  • Recipient → Share with Me → Left swipe + Approve

Recipient view:

To view your colleagues’ billing history, you will need to create a New Claim, select the patient that was shared with you, and navigate to the Patient Billing History menu.

Once you are in the Patient Billing History screen, you can filter the view by the codes you billed vs. your colleagues. In the screenshot below, Dr. Jose Lang is your colleague who has shared the billing information for one of his patients.

Updates:

Information is shared continuously. New claims by the Contributor are updated automatically to the Recipient.

My Patient List

Share your ‘My Patient List’ with your colleagues. This feature is useful when you are handing over your patients to your colleagues. Your colleagues will not need to create their own patient list as you have shared with them the most updated version.

Instructions for:

  • Contributor → My Patient List → select Facility + Colleague(s) → Share

  • Recipient → Share with Me → Left swipe + Approve

Recipient view:

Navigate to My Patient List. You will now be able to see the list that was recently shared by your colleague.

Updates:

Information is shared one time. Patient list changes by the Contributor are not updated automatically to the Recipient.

Templates

Share your billing knowledge and best practices. Share the templates you have customized with your colleagues. All components of your templates, such as categories, codes, and aliases are copied over.

Instructions for:

  • Contributor → Templates → select your template(s) + Colleague(s) → Share

  • Recipient → Share with Me → Left swipe + Approve

Recipient view:

Navigate to New Claims → Template → Edit. You will now be able to see the template(s) that was recently shared by your colleague.

Updates:

Information is shared one time. Template changes by the Contributor are not updated automatically to the Recipient.

Version Code History

Health cards expire. It is tedious work to chase after the new version code. You can share the updated version code of your patients with your colleagues and vice versa.

Instructions for:

  • Contributor → Version Code History → select Patient(s) + Colleague(s) → Share

  • Recipient → Share with Me → Left swipe + Approve

Recipient view:

To view the version code, you will need to navigate to: Search Patients. You will notice the list of version codes shared with you.

Updates:

Information is shared one time. Version Code changes by the Contributor are not updated automatically to the Recipient. A new share request must be initiated every time the version code is updated.
