OHIP Error Code - VJ7/VJ8 - Stale dated claim
What is OHIP error code VJ7 or VJ8?
IMPORTANT: Effective April 1, 2023, the claims submission period for OHIP fee-for-service insured and related services is adjusted from six months to three months from the date a service is rendered in Ontario. This applies to the services rendered on or after April 1, 2023.
For the services rendered prior to April 1, 2023, claims must be submitted to the MoH within 6 months from the service date.
How to fix OHIP error code VJ7 or VJ8?
If the date is incorrect, update the date and resubmit the claim.
If the service date is correct, follow the stale dated claim process and resubmit the claim.
If resubmission of a previously rejected claim that is now stale dated follow the Resubmission of Stale Dated Rejected Claim process.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Batch numbers for stale-dated claims are only issued after the MoH processes the claims. Please contact the Ministry if you do not receive confirmation after a reasonable period. Stale-dated claims do not appear in the Medical Claims Electronic Data Transfer (MCEDT) system because they follow a separate manual workflow.
