OHIP Error Code - CNA - Counselling not allowed

Background:

This rejection means a conflicting service has previously been billed, thus, the counselling services are not eligible for payment.

No other services are eligible for payment, when rendered the same day, to the same patient, by the same physician as counselling services. When other services, such as consults or assessments, are rendered the same day in a previously submitted claim, the MoH will process the billing received first (which may not necessarily be the higher paying fee).

Solution:

If the service that is paid by the Ministry is the lower paying fee, you may file a request when the R/A is received to amend the billing to the higher paying, applicable services.

*Preemptively, you can remove lower paying, conflicting services to avoid the possible need for RA Inquiries going forward.
