Before you start working independently in BC you need to get your independent practice license. Having this license is what lets you diagnose and treat patients, order investigations, obtain and write prescriptions and essentially practice medicine. Expect to renew it every year in February.
Applying for and renewing your provincial medical license is done through the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC), through physician apply. This is a multi-step registration process that’s easy to do if you follow along with the exact registration steps.
