Billing continuing care for maternity patients

Continuing care surcharges are only available during second and third stages of labour for any maternity patient. A note record is required stating: Second stage at __:__, Dr arrived __:__, delivered __:__. The times entered in the claim must also reflect these times to accurately calculate the billing codes.

It is also important to note that you must have been called to the hospital to see a patient and logged a call out fee. Simply being "on-call" does not qualify you for a call out charge.
